We started IVGC with a simple dream: to make game creation education accessible and affordable to everyone, regardless of where they live. When we began, IVGC was entirely free, and thousands of passionate students from around the world joined us.

But recent changes in the Finnish education system introduced fees for Open University courses, making it challenging to keep the course cost-free. Open University Credits now cost between €15-45 each in Finland, which quickly becomes prohibitive, and the system became completely inaccessible to international students.

In the UK, a year of academic studies can cost over £9,250, and in game-related university courses competition is intense, with thousands of applicants applying for just a handful of spots.

Q: Will I earn University Credits for my studies?
A: Yes! Both IVGC Free and IVGC+ members earn University Credits upon module completion. IVGC Free offers up to 10 Credits, while IVGC+ allows you to earn up to 45+ Credits toward one of our future diplomas.

Q: Will I earn Finnish Open University Credits?
A: At the moment, only HETU/PIC holders can be awarded Finnish Open University Credits. HETU/PIC holders are those who live permanently in Finland having a Finnish social security number. You can earn up to 10 of such Credits with an IVGC Free membership subscription and up to 35 with an IVGC+ membership subscription.

Q: Will I receive a certificate upon completion?
A: IVGC+ members earn certificates for completed modules and work toward our future diplomas when they reach fixed milestones, currently set at 60 and 90 Credits (equivalent to 1 year or 1 ½ years of study). At the moment, all IVGC members receive a Certificate of Studies detailing their achievements and HETU/PIC holders will be eligible to receive an official Transcript of Records(ToR) from the Finnish Open University system. HETU/PIC holders are those who live permanently in Finland having a Finnish social security number. 

Q: Can I upgrade from IVGC Free to IVGC+?
A: Absolutely! You can upgrade at any time and gain access to all advanced modules, workshops, and exclusive support offered in IVGC+.

Q: Does IVGC+ have an annual subscription option?
A: Yes, you will have access to a 20% discount applying for an annual subscription on the IVGC+ Membership Tier.

Q: What professional tools will I learn to use?
A: Both memberships provide training on Unity3D, Krita, Blender, and more. IVGC+ includes advanced training and additional materials.

Q: How can you afford to offer the course at such an affordable price?
A: We operate with a small, dedicated team and focus on delivering our courses online, which keeps overhead costs low. This allows us to offer IVGC+ at an affordable rate, while still providing top-quality content and support.

Q: Why did IVGC introduce a paid membership like IVGC+?
A: Due to changes in Finnish government policies, Open University courses are now subject to fees. IVGC+ was introduced to continue offering comprehensive game creation education while remaining as affordable as possible.
