1. How much does the IVGC+ Membership cost?
The IVGC+ Membership is priced at €9.90 per month or €94.90 annually (with a 20% discount).
2. When does the course start?
The course starts as soon as you sign up for the IVGC+ Membership. You can begin right away and study at your own pace.
3. Are there any deadlines to complete the modules?
There are no deadlines as long as your IVGC+ Membership remains active. Your membership will be automatically renewed every month and you can cancel it at any time.
4. How long will it take to complete the IVGC+ course?
On average, 1 credit equals about 27 hours of work. Depending on your prior experience, the time required to complete the course may vary.
5. Who provides the IVGC course?
The course is provided by CADGI (Cambridge Academy of Digital Gaming and Innovation) and XAMK (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences). It is designed and delivered by professionals in the gaming industry.
6. What tools will I use in IVGC+?
In IVGC+, you will work with a range of professional tools, including Unity, Unreal Engine 5, FMOD, Audacity, Reaper, Krita, Blender, Visual Studio, Bitbucket, and Sourcetree. These industry-standard tools will give you hands-on experience in every aspect of game development, from coding and design to audio and version control, as you progress from basic skills to advanced game creation.
7. What content will I learn with the IVGC+ Tier?
With IVGC+, you will start from scratch and progress to advanced topics across the full range of modules. You will learn foundational skills in game development and advance to complex subjects like Game Art Creation, Mobile Game Development, and creating four fully functioning game projects. This comprehensive course helps you build a strong skill set for creating your own games.
8. How many credits will I earn with IVGC+?
By completing all of the modules included in the IVGC+ Tier, you can earn 45+ Credits. And we are always working on releasing more content! Our current goal is to reach 90 Credits in the future.
9. Will I receive a certificate for completing the modules?
Yes, you will receive a Certificate of Studies (CoS) which will testify your current progress and the Credits you acquired. If you are a PIC/HETU holder in Finland, you will also receive official Transcript of Records (ToR) issued by Xamk (South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences) to testify your completion of the modules offered by the Finnish Open University System (M10-M18 and M1-M6).
10. What are the technical requirements for IVGC+?
You will need a PC or laptop, a 3-button mouse, and a reliable internet connection. A graphic tablet is recommended for art-related modules but is not mandatory. For M7 and M8, check Unreal Engine 5’s requirements here.
11. How will I complete the course?
You will watch video lectures, complete quizzes, and submit assignments. Your progress will be assessed by our instructors, and you will be awarded credits based on your performance.
12. Can I study the modules with friends?
Yes, collaboration is encouraged! However, all submitted work must be completed individually, and assignments should reflect your own personal effort.
