Lead Projects with Confidence
Welcome to Module 24: Production Management — a practical, step-by-step guide to how games (and other creative tech projects) actually get delivered. Led by Deepa Karanth, Project Manager at BritBox, this module walks you through the core principles, stages, and skills of professional production management, from first brief to shipped feature.

Complete Course Overview
This module includes five video lessons and a hands-on assignment using provided templates (downloadable inside the course). Subtitles are available for all videos.
Part 1 - Introducing Deepa Karanth
Deepa shares her journey from full-stack developer on consumer apps to production roles in games, including credits on Fracked and Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord. You’ll get a high-level view of what a Project Manager does — and why the role is so rewarding.
Part 2 - Key Stages
From initial brief to plan-in-motion: how production flows across different project types, how disciplines engage at each stage, what to do when a release goes live with an issue, and practical paths into this career.
Part 3 - Key Skills
The day-to-day toolkit of a great producer: communication, adaptability, resilience, and the core technical skills that support planning and delivery. See how a feature moves through a team, from idea to shipped work.
Part 4 - Feature Breakdown Example
A short, focused demo on how to start breaking down a feature into epics, stories, tasks, owners, and estimates — the bridge from vision to execution.
Part 5 - Presentation
How projects are signed, how a PM turns an initial brief into a mid-level project plan, and the practices that improve outcomes (cadence, check-ins, risk tracking, change control). Deepa also introduces the assignment you’ll submit for credit.
