About Certificates

Certificates provide an official record of your academic progress and achievements. They are essential for demonstrating your qualifications in job applications, academic admissions, or personal milestones. Two types of certificates are available: the Transcript of Records (ToR) and the Certificate of Studies (CoS). Both certificates serve the same purpose, but are issued by different entities.

Continuous Study

Receiving a certificate, whether a Transcript of Records or a Certificate of Studies, reflects your progress but does not signify program completion. You are encouraged to continue your studies, earn additional credits, and further develop your knowledge and skills.

Why Certificates Are Important

Certificates are formal acknowledgments of your academic achievements and progress. They are essential tools for job applications, study admissions, and other professional endeavors. By providing a comprehensive record of your learning journey, these documents validate your dedication and qualifications in any context where formal recognition is required.

Transcript of Records (ToR)

The Transcript of Records is an official document issued by XAMK Open Studies. It serves as a live academic record of the ECTS credits earned during your studies.

Requirements

The ToR is available only to students who have registered through the Lyyti system

Since the 1st of October, 2024, only Finnish HETU/PIC holders can register through the Lyyti system.

💡HETU/PIC holders are individuals who are living in Finland and have a Finnish social security number.

If you have a HETU/PIC, you can register for the course through Lyyti at:

https://www.lyyti.fi/reg/Introduction_to_Video_Games_Creation_6717

To obtain your ToR, you must ensure that you are enrolled in the IVGC Course on Teachable using the same email address used on Lyyti.

Issuance

The ToR is automatically issued approximately 2 (two) weeks after each assessment. This process ensures that your academic progress is continually updated.

Requesting

If you need an updated version of your ToR at any time, or if you have not received it within 2 (two) weeks of completing an assessment, you can request it manually by emailing [email protected]. Make sure to include the name used during registration in the email.

If you have never received any version of the ToR, there may be an issue with your details in the database. In such cases, you should contact [email protected] to verify and correct your registration.

Content and Language

The ToR includes a record of progress through Modules 1 to 6 and 10 to 18, which are part of the Open Studies program, totaling up to 35 ECTS credits.

Grading is shown as "H" for "Hyväksytty" (Accepted), as the Open Studies system does not use detailed grading.

The document is bilingual, with content provided in both English and Finnish, in compliance with the Finnish education system's requirements.

Certificate of Studies (CoS)

Description

The Certificate of Studies is issued by IVGC and provides a detailed record of your academic progress. It includes information about all your completed modules and Credits.

Requirements

The CoS is available to all students enrolled on Teachable for the IVGC course, regardless of their membership tier (IVGC Free and IVGC+).

Issuance

The CoS is automatically updated as you complete modules or earn credits. However, it is not sent automatically and must be requested manually by the student.

Requesting

To request an updated version of your CoS, fill out the form available at:

https://forms.gle/29x7LF9fRTaVsybg7

Content and Language

The CoS provides detailed information about all of your completed modules - regardless of them being part of IVGC Free, IVGC+, or available as IVGC Singles - including module names, difficulty levels, credits earned, and the dates of registration.

Grading is shown as "pass”, as the IVGC Course does not use detailed grading.

The document is available exclusively in English, ensuring accessibility for an international audience.
